afcturn_ A late December release for 2022 but one of the best. Nocturnal Departure seem to always give you the 2nd/wave feel the right way. Yet they've carved a unique lane with Clandestine Theurgy. More beastial, war like and still provides the classic drums with beautiful melodic riffs intertwined. On my top ten last year and I waited.

brainscraper If you liked their last album (which I absolutely loved) you will 110% enjoy this one. Its packed with catchy riffs and melodies and it really has that 2nd wave feel to it. Oh and the vocals are some of the best I have heard all year and they perfectly combine the more deep vocals with the harsh higher tone vocals. I really dig that. Do yourself a favor and check this one out! This is superb black metal.

Favorite track: Ceremonial Storm.
